Today Lyssa’s classmates all got together at the City Park to have some fun and say a final farewell, there was a lot of laughing and hugs to go around
Happy Mothers Day!!
Mommy, I love you
For all that you do.
I’ll kiss you and hug you
‘Cause you love me, too.
You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile ’cause I love you
On this Mother’s Day.
Today I got lucky enough to spend the day with my 3 best girl friends. These girls have been my sisters ever since 6th grade and I am truly blessed to have them in my life.
We decided what better way to spend a girl day than to go shopping right? 🙂 well we were really shopping for their bridesmaids dresses which landed up proving harder to find than we thought. However after 6 hours of shopping, almost having a stroller/escalator accident, enjoying lunch together to all of us giggling in one changing stall together… we were happy to find a dress for each of them which was a good thing because we were ALL shopped out
Yup there is definitely no rest for the wicked…
After staying up until 1am finishing my wedding bouquet I decided to do some cake pops (cake had already baked and cooled earlier in the evening) then at 2am I decided I had to go to bed. Yet at 7am I was wide awake so I finished the little treats to take into work for the winning team of a contest we ran.
Here are the finished products:
(I kept them simple yet delicious)
So Honey & I have always been completely honest with each other…sometimes to the point we get butt hurt. But we always talk it out and thankfully have only had 2 real fights in the years that we have been together. Well yesterday morning when Honey saw the bouquet I made he totally compared it to the medieval weapon with spikes!
So after spending most of the morning at work being hurt, I decided that he was right so I went out and purchased more shells, then after we got home Lyssa & I attempted to dissemble the first one the best we could to salvage my favorites pieces and tonight I made another go at it…I have to admit I am really happy in the end that he gave me his opinion because after I put the 2nd bouquet together…I like this one much much more!
Josh and I firmly believe in spending quality time together so we usually try to get a date night every 1 to 2 weeks. Tonight we decided to go to the theatre and watch a movie…especially since it was the opening weekend for Avengers! (k so now you our secret that we were/are both comic books nerds) Hands down this is my new favorite movie!!!! It was awesome Awesome AWESOME!!! I won’t ruin for anyone who hasn’t watched it but is planning to but I will say that you will not be disappointed! It had so much action yet didn’t lose sight of the story line and each avenger got his/her chance to shine. This will be a definite buy and probably a rare return trip to the theatre or possibly the drive in.
Today we decided to relax and take it easy so we headed to the Nature Center with Ranger in the back barking the whole ride there. When we arrived Lyssa was definitely not happy when she realized that we didn’t bring her bike however, when she saw where we were headed her attitude quickly changed. LOL like her being in her swimsuit wasn’t the first clue. We spent the day at the river, Lyssa and I built a sand/dirt castle, Ranger played fetch with a stick in the awesome ice-cold river, and of course Lyssa made a new friend before we left…of course our little princess found a frog! But at least she didnt’ try kissing it lol. And now before Lyssa passes out….daddy has her out on the back patio making smores over the grill as we wait for the super moon’s appearance tonight 🙂
