When we cleaned out the spare bedroom to make it into an office we knew Josh would need a good desk. But we got super lucky because instead of having to buy a $1000 desk, my Auntie Dorothy gave us one for free!! It needed a little TLC…which of course is my preference anyway because that gives me the opportunity to make it our own. Here is Josh’s office desk that we redid. It only took a couple coats of Walnut Rust-O-Leum stain & Josh painted the handles (changed them from outdated brass to a silver look) and now the desk to look fresh and new again.

Bathroom Morning Makeover
I love home improvement projects, don’t you? Afterwards I love sitting back and admiring my work, appreciating the impact my efforts made and feeling accomplished for the day(s) it took to finish the job.
All winter I have been itching to redo our upstairs bathroom cabinet and today I finally had a day off where I actually had some free time (yippee! Enjoying that rare moment 🙂 ).
So after spending a few hours at Lowes; pretty much just walking through nearly every department, dreaming and comparing colors, I finally made it home with my needed supplies: paint, sponge paint brush, mini roller, new knobs (we already had sand paper at home).
After removing the doors and drawers, cleaning and preparing the base and medicine cabinets, taping, painting, and reassembling I got to do one of my favorite things….impress my wonderful husband! He was totally shocked when he saw the difference, and kept commenting how paint and new hardware can make that much of a difference, he immediately wanted to redo our kitchen cabinets lol. Woot! I count this as a win 🙂

Peanut Butter Truffles
Friday we had a March of Dimes (MOD) bake sale fund raiser so I whipped up some Peanut Butter Truffles
When I was getting towards the end of making the truffles Lyss gets up for the day and joined me in the kitchen to watch me finish up. When she asked if she could have one I let her have a small piece…to my horror she immediately goes to the kitchen trash can and spits it out. I am thinking oh my goodness all of these truffles taste horrible…what am I going to do?! I pull it together and ask Lyss why she spit out the truffle and if they taste bad to which her response was…Mommy I’m sorry but those cake bites taste like peanut butter, which made me let out a sigh of relief and I shared that they are peanut butter truffles which Lyss replied…well then Mommy they definitely taste the way they are supposed but you forgot that I don’t like peanut butter. Whew! Disaster avoided lol
