I had the pleasure of making a wedding cake for an amazing couple
Over 1,000 petals went into making all of these roses but it’s totally worth it to see the smile on the bride & groom’s faces when they see the cake for the first time 😊
Congratulations Olivia & Donavan!
I love home improvement projects, don’t you? Afterwards I love sitting back and admiring my work, appreciating the impact my efforts made and feeling accomplished for the day(s) it took to finish the job.
All winter I have been itching to redo our upstairs bathroom cabinet and today I finally had a day off where I actually had some free time (yippee! Enjoying that rare moment 🙂 ).
So after spending a few hours at Lowes; pretty much just walking through nearly every department, dreaming and comparing colors, I finally made it home with my needed supplies: paint, sponge paint brush, mini roller, new knobs (we already had sand paper at home).
After removing the doors and drawers, cleaning and preparing the base and medicine cabinets, taping, painting, and reassembling I got to do one of my favorite things….impress my wonderful husband! He was totally shocked when he saw the difference, and kept commenting how paint and new hardware can make that much of a difference, he immediately wanted to redo our kitchen cabinets lol. Woot! I count this as a win 🙂
Today we enjoyed Lepik Palooza where we celebrated our house warming, my birthday, Josh’s birthday and our anniversary and I have to say I had a grand time!!! This was the first party that Josh decided that he wanted to be in charge of so I temporarily denied my party OCD instincts and gave him the reigns.
He had the invitations designed 6 months in advance I kept thinking that I created another OCD party monster (I was so proud). But after giving my hubby 3 friendly reminders to get the invitations printed and mailed out at 8, 6 & 4 weeks then me freaking out because he hadn’t mailed out the invitations much less printed them (remember I DID say temporarily) then since I hit my 3 strikes rule I no longer mentioned the invitations…and then about a week before the party my darlin hubby sent me a text that he asked me to forward as the party invite to my family & friends list (I was thinking that we were definitely NOT going to have much of a turn out) but boy was I wrong!
We had about 50 close friends and family show up today to enjoy the day with us. My mom got Lyss a pool that ALL of the kids enjoyed with Beach Balls and Floaties. We hung out and enjoyed our time with our amazing extended family, so thank you ma famille for a wonderful day!!!
I love you all so very much 🙂
I wanted to take a few minutes and say I have the best husband in the world.
He has to start the day off by leaning close and kissing me good morning, he fills my car with gas so I don’t have to, he makes sure to tell me that he loves me and says it with meaning (which makes it mean so much more), he cook dinner when I get out late, he lets me eat cookies and milk in bed whenever I want and he does little things to remind me exactly how much he cares.
For these plus about a million others I know exactly how lucky I am and I will cherish every moment we have together.
So the other night my boss had made the comment that her and her husband started that tradition 20-some years ago not answer their phone(s) during dinner; since its the only meal that they get together.
After she left her words kept ringing in my head and I couldn’t help but think how many dinners over the years we interrupted with answering a text or phone call so that very night I mentioned the subject to my hubby and we both fell in love with the idea of turning our phones off during dinner whether its a big family dinner or just the two of us enjoying a bite together.
I challenge everyone to turn the cell phone off and enjoy some family time. I know that I want my spouse and child to look back in 5, 10, 15, 20 years from now and remember spending quality family time together instead of how much I was distracted…
So on Monday my hubby decided to play a really mean prank on me. So he made me think I got him in really BIG trouble at work because a few days before I had accidentally text his work phone (nothing inappropriate…I was actually excited because the house we have been interested in dropped in price) instead of his normal personal phone….
After I realized that he was just playing one of his many jokes, I decided my teach my prankster hubby a lesson. So I (and my awesome friends) came up with a plan to make him think I was pregnant (yes we went for a low blow). So I was sensitive to smells, couldn’t eat meat because it taste weird, was a little nauseous, then during lunch hubby and I were going over our calendars and my time was so “conveniently” scheduled for a week ago which caused a panicked look and a quick trip to Walgreens to pick up some pregnancy tests. After returning to work we agreed that I would take the test on my 2nd break. My plan was to get one of my friends who was really preggers to pee on the stick for me but I forgot she got off early. So I found a believable pic on Google (I went pretty far in the search results to ensure it wasn’t easily found) and sent him the pic. At this point his coworkers say that he went white and almost passed out. I came clean about an hour later but he learned a valuable lesson…and he has now vowed to never prank me again Lol 🙂 love ya babe!
Today I got lucky enough to spend the day with my 3 best girl friends. These girls have been my sisters ever since 6th grade and I am truly blessed to have them in my life.
We decided what better way to spend a girl day than to go shopping right? 🙂 well we were really shopping for their bridesmaids dresses which landed up proving harder to find than we thought. However after 6 hours of shopping, almost having a stroller/escalator accident, enjoying lunch together to all of us giggling in one changing stall together… we were happy to find a dress for each of them which was a good thing because we were ALL shopped out
