As I was creating the dessert list for Alyssa’s Neverland Birthday party I wanted to make a treat that I haven’t made before but doable. In the end I chose to make chocolate covered oreos for the versatility in being able to cover them in any color and pair them with different toppers plus I knew that I wouldn’t be spending tons of time on tedious details (genius thought…I know 😉 )

Captain Hook’s Ship
Alas the party is right around the corner. When we started putting ideas together for Lyssa’s Neverland party I envisioned Captain Hook’s Ship on either the dessert table or a centerpiece…well it came time to draw the ship and once I was done sketching I knew right away it’s place belonged on the dessert table 🙂
After I finished drawing the ship, I used an Exacto blade to cut the ship out of the foam board
Then came a coat of metallic gold acrylic paint
After the paint dried while Alyssa & Josh were out running errands, I sprayed it with gold glitter
When they got back, I thought I would be cute and tell Lyssa that a Tinkerbell came by the house and sprinkled Pixie Dust on the ship…she looks at me with this skeptical look and without skipping a beat asked “then why is the ship not flying then?” I couldn’t help myself.. I let out a laugh and told her that was a very good question and thought that fewer and fewer things are getting past her. lol
Periwinkle shoes
Alyssa decided she wanted to be Periwinkle and her Auntie Tracie agreed to be Tinkerbell for Alyssa’s Neverland birthday party. And Periwinkle can’t go to her party without her special shoes right?!
All it took was creative thinking, sparkly shoes, 2 white Pom Poms, long lasting craft glue, lots of
Fairy Dust and viola! Fairy shoes fit for Periwinkle or her lovely sister.
It’s that time again
When the winter holidays begin I like so many others take a break from my workout routine and that hiatus lasted through the holidays and sad to say into February. Lately I had been feeling icky and the urge to workout began to grow. Now that my wonderful hubby is out of town I had some extra time on my hands, so after power cleaning our home I knew that inevitable time has come to get down to business and get my sweat on! However I spent more time searching the house for my favorite now lost tennis shoes and kept thinking “ok Kris you KNOW it’s been too long when you can’t find your workout shoes!!!” Alas I did find them and my challenge to get my six pack back has begun!

Getting ready for a Neverland Birthday!
The one time of year that I completely overdo the celebration is my daughter’s birthday party. I know that her party’s are bigger than needed however I am truly celebrating my little miracle and that she is healthy and happy.
This year we decided to celebrate with a Neverland theme and of course like always the invitations had to match and rhyme 🙂
I will totally admit that I am extremely excited for this party! More details to come…

Camping @ Huerfano
Had a wonderful weekend camping with family at the Huerfano.
Best part is watching my daughter play with her cousins, I love all the dirt on her face (sign of a great day). 🙂
